 1. HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMPS

Swasthya Sangi's health check-up camps bring essential diagnostic and consultation services to communities with limited access to regular healthcare, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas of Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Organised in partnership with local hospitals, volunteer medical professionals and community stakeholders, each camp is designed to meet people where they are — reducing the travel, cost and time barriers that often keep families from seeking timely care.

The camps focus on three objectives:

Accessible screening: Offer free or low-cost basic health checks — including blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, vision and general physical examination — to people who may otherwise go years without a check-up.

Community health awareness: Build understanding of common preventable conditions, nutrition, maternal and child health, and hygiene practices through on-site counselling and educational materials.

Referral and continuity: Connect individuals identified with health concerns to nearby hospitals, specialists or diagnostic centres, so that a single day's camp translates into an ongoing care pathway rather than an isolated event.

Camps are open to all community members regardless of ability to pay, and all medical information collected is kept strictly confidential. Aggregate, anonymised data may be shared with local health authorities or partner organisations to help identify broader community health trends and guide future outreach.

2. The Construction Worker Health Initiative

The Construction Worker Health Initiative is Swasthya Sangi's flagship programme for workers employed across infrastructure and construction projects. Working with construction companies, medical professionals, hospitals, diagnostic providers, civil-society organisations and public agencies, the programme brings preventive health services directly to worksites.

The initiative focuses on three objectives:

Early identification: Make basic screening available before manageable health concerns become serious.

Prevention: Improve awareness of occupational risks including heat, dust exposure, musculoskeletal strain, respiratory health and safe working practices.

Continuity of care: Ensure that a health camp does not end when the medical team leaves the site by creating referral and follow-up pathways for workers requiring additional care.

Participation in health services is voluntary. Personal medical information is kept confidential and is not shared with employers without the worker's consent. Employers may receive anonymised, aggregate findings that can help strengthen workplace-health practices.
